Christians are called to service out of a love for God. Every person has unique spiritual gifts to offer. Finding these gifts and using them to serve the body of Christ helps you to grow closer to the Lord. There are many ways to serve the Lord at FPCW by getting involved. Participating in the life of the church is also a great way to get to know people!
If you are unsure where to get started, a great way to begin is by helping out with our Sunday worship service. Greeters, ushers, communion servers, lay liturgists and hall monitors are always in demand. If you are more technically inclined, there are opportunities to help make audio and video recordings of our worship services. This is a service that we provide for members who can't make it to church on Sunday, but still want to watch or listen in. Helpers to operate the video projector are also needed. Contact one of the Worship Team Ministry members and let them know you're interested!
If you have a gift for music, you can get involved by joining the Adult Choir or the Bell Choir, or if you are an instrumentalist, talk to our music director about performing during worship.
Do you have a talent for art, graphic design, photography, marketing, writing or computers? Are you looking for a creative outlet that will also serve the Lord? Come and join our new Web Ministry! The time commitment can be as little or as much as you want, and you don't need to have any previous experience with web publishing.
There are many opportunities to help our with Sunday school, VBS and youth group programs. Talk to someone on the the Christian Education (CE) Ministry for more information.
If your skills are in planning and organizing congregational events, talk to someone on the Congregation & Community Relations (C&CR) Ministry about getting involved.
Are you good at working with your hands? The Property Ministry is always looking for volunteers who are willing to help out. There are monthly work nights for window washing, minor repairs and other small projects. Many hands make light work!
