Register for WILD THINGS 2026/27 here!

We believe the Spirit of God is the wildest thing of all!

Young children (with their adults and older siblings) are invited to gather for a simple meal, followed by worship in a circle on the floor, full of light, songs, bubble prayers, storytelling, and movement.

The gathering is meaningful for children who are infants to elementary age. This year, we will gather together and split into two worship circles: Wild Things (infants-grade 1) and Wild Pre-Tweens (grades 2-5).

What you can expect every, single time:

5:30 PM- Welcome board

(listen to the gathering playlist here!)

5:35 PM- Sign language prayer to bless the meal

5:35 PM- Simple dinner of chicken nuggets, fresh veggie or fruit, applesauce packet, treat

(for children and adults :)

6:00 PM- Worship Circle!

6:25 PM- Dancing with streamers

(listen to the dance playlist here!)

Wild Things Worship Circle (Infant - 1st Grade): song, candle-lighting, welcoming each person by name, sharing prayers, short story, acting out the story or other movement to re-tell the story's themes

*Wild Pre-Tween* Worship Circle (2nd - 5th Grade): psalms, candle-lighting, prayers, scripture, and service project, optional dancing at the end ;)

*NEW* Wild Pre-Tweens will uniquely connect the stories of Jesus with hands-on, loving service to our neighbors. They will gather (without their parents) to confidently grow in faith and friendship.

There is no cost to attend Church of the Wild Things. Just like the rest of our ministries, we are supported by generous donations from our participants. Donations can be made to the church online (to the general offering fund) or by cash or check.

Past Themes:

"God Made the World," A seven days of creation scavenger hunt

"Out of the Water," Acting out the story of Jesus' Baptism

"Loving Neighbors," The Parable of the Good Samaritan (good neighbor tag!)

"Who Counts?" The Parable of the Lost Sheep & the Lost Coin (coin hide-and-seek!)

"Washing Hands," Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet (and we wash one another's hands!)

"Costumed Christmas," Telling the Christmas story in costume!

Take a look at our beautiful, big, light-filled space where we meet!

What do 'wild things' do?

'Church of the Wild Things' will grow your little one’s spirit with simple practices you can easily replicate and talk about at home: songs, candle-lighting, stories to act out, and symbols to spot when you are out-and-about running errands (like a heart, or angel, or star!)

Everyone is encouraged to participate in worship in the round, sitting on carpet squares--children, siblings, AND parents. And, of course, we'll get up to dance. Chairs are always available for folks who need them ;)

But, first, before we do anything else, we'll eat!

We believe that love is meant to be shared. The most important message of every 'Wild Things' gathering is "You are loved."

We believe that parents want to nurture their children's spirits and would like the support of a fun and loving community.

We believe that families want to attend church together, and they want a church they feel really good about attending-- something short and sweet, welcoming and affirming (with food you don’t have to prepare yourself)!

When you walk through the door, you already belong. This is a church for all people.
